How to Get the Most Out of Office Hours
Aggie Enterprise office hours offer attendees the opportunity to ask questions of functional leads and get assistance with Aggie Enterprise processes.
But as an attendee, how do you know where to begin?
These tips will help you prepare for office hours and get the most out of your time with the functional leads and fellow Aggie Enterprise users.
Tips for maximizing your time in office hours:
Frame questions around what you are trying to accomplish.
When asking questions during office hours, start by clarifying your objectives. It’s beneficial to explain not just the problem, but also what you’re trying to achieve. By sharing your overall goal(s), you help the subject matter expert to better understand your needs so they can provide more effective guidance. This approach ensures that the support you receive is directly aligned with your intended outcomes.
Be ready with details and data.
Preparation is key to getting the most out of office hours. Come equipped with screenshots, specific values (such as Chart of Accounts values, PPM Project numbers, or document numbers), and any other relevant details that will help the subject matter expert understand your scenario.
For questions about report data, make sure to provide the exact report name and the parameters you used to run the report. Running the report ahead of time and having the export ready to share will save time and lead to more efficient troubleshooting.
Listen in to learn from others.
Attendees are welcome to join office hours just to listen to the conversation. Hearing the questions posed by other attendees and the advice provided can offer insights and tips that you can apply to your own use of Aggie Enterprise.
What to expect
Office hours are scheduled to provide both separate and joint sessions for Finance and Supply Chain. These sessions are hosted with a main “lobby” for more general assistance, with breakout rooms dedicated to specific topics and functional areas. Separate sessions for Aggie Enterprise Planning are also available.
The “raise hand” feature in Zoom is used to indicate that you have a question and establish your position in the queue. For those with multiple questions, we will ask that you take turns with other attendees, ensuring that everyone has a chance to ask their questions.
Based on continued interest from Aggie Enterprise users, office hours will continue through 2024, though the schedule may be modified periodically based on attendance rates. Individual sessions are posted to the Aggie Enterprise Events webpage, where you can add them to your calendar.
